Activity 1.1 Ethical Hacking Discussion Activity
Assignment Description:
In class, your group spokesperson can introduce the group members and then enumerate your chosen rules.
Respect the workspaces/workstations
This ensures that workstations are intact and are accessible for the following day. There should be no interferences with your workstation or other workstations, and that all interactions are conducted in a professional manner.
Don’t hack your friends
Hacking someone’s workstation at school, or out in the wild can have severe consequences, either legally or with the school. Sections IV, XIV, of the Champlain College Student Code of Conduct specify rules of accessing information without access or unauthorized access, trespassing or misuse of physical or electronic access privileges, and tampering of software of others computers. Any criminal activity will be at the discretion of law enforcement for further action both in college or outside of it.
Don’t publicise the data
The data that may be on these machines should stay within the class, on your assignments and documentation, but should not be shared with other students outside of SEC-335 in the spring semester of 2025. The information about these targets and computers, and what they contain should not be disclosed to anyone besides your groupmates and professor.
Do your own work—don’t steal from your group members or other peoples GitHubs
In order to learn and make the most of this class, students should attempt class activities and work on their own before reaching out for help from other classmates or the professor. Additionally, students should make sure they are doing their own work rather than copying from someone else’s GitHub, or assignments.
